First ideas came to me in summer 2016. First complete version of volume 1 in German was ready on March 23, 2018. I don’t know when I started my first attempt to translate. I guess 2019 something? But I wasn’t quite satisfied with it. My autism and dyslexia very much affects my ability to learn languages. I struggle with subtext and idioms and such. Also people claim I would translate text word by word but when I write English I barely have access to German thinking. Also German folks tend to mock and shame my English.

I tried to avoid translation tools because I dislike google, but I feel a lot more comfortable using its assistance to translate. That means, I translate like a 100 words using google translate and then read it carefully, polish it and choose for different words if I like, that feel better in my mouth or seem to fit the scene with their auditive look.

Maybe my self confidence has grown enough for a new attempt, now, in the early days of 2026 (or last days of 2025).

I use SPBuchsatz to create the pdf of this book. It is a German software to typeset German books. And I most certainly should not use it for an English book. But for now it is the best way to go for me. The output is very pretty.

Some wordings and phrasings may seem odd or wonky. A reason might be that I am not a native speaker. But another equally likely reason might be that I like some oddness. I like to be very present while reading and writing, making art of words, phrase things more like I feel and less common.

This is advanced I guess. The translation of a text where some phrasings are odd on purpose. While I might have a feeling for language in German (but sometimes it isn’t on purpose in German either) I lack that feeling for English. I really would like to find a native speaking autistic beta reader who likes playing around with language and feeling words in their mouth.

I also like to invent words. I expand the limitations of existing words and use self-explaining new words.
